1 The sun beat down upon His head In the wilds where he had been led.
He had been there beneath those rays—Eating no food for forty days.
2 The tempter came to him and said, If you’re His Son then make stones bread.
Man shall not live on bread alone—But on words that come from the throne.
3 Jump from the rooftop without fear God's angels will render their care.
Let My God be forever blest; I shall not put Him to the test.
4 Behold realms of humanity Are yours if you will worship me.
My worship you do not deserve Only God I worship and serve.
5 But I will worship God only And I will serve the King of kings.
Oh, no! This knee will never bend I will adore Him to the end!
