The Lex Orandi Setting

(a contemporary liturgy for Holy Communion based on the traditional order of service)

The Lutheran Common Service of 1917 was made early in the 20th century for use by congregations across North America. The original setting is in the Public Domain. Over the years, various hymnals have included services based on this common seeting, including the Lutheran Book of Worship (Setting 3) and the ReClaim Hymnal (Setting 3). The setting is especially recommended to congregations that come from a more formal liturgical tradition.
