The Season of Pentecost Year A
Pentecost 2 of 2 — Autumn 2026
The general tone for worship in the second half of the season of Pentecost is that of continued growth coupled with transition and change. In these days when those who work the land will be bringing in the harvest, we hear the themes of growth, transition, and change echoed in our lives of faith. As children head back to school or our young people leave for college, the military, or other adventures, the Church continues her slow and steady growth — even as God begins to reap the harvest. Days grow shorter in the Northern Hemisphere, and nights grow longer, but God's abiding presence never falters.

Prayer for Students
Instead of "blessing" inanimate backpacks -- how about blessing the students and teachers! This sheet can be used in worship before the new school year begins this fall. Give each student and teacher a copy for their backpack or bag, so they can keep it with them while they're at school as a reminder of God's love and their baptismal vocation.
Stewardship Materials: For those congregations who will be leading a Fall Stewardship emphasis, Sola has provided a number of support resources. We have kept these rather generic and un-dated to allow the to be used in different years and seasons.
Daily Prayer Bookmark
Martin Luther wrote in the Large Catechism, "But to pray, the Second Commandment teaches, is to call on God in every need. This he requires of us. It is not a matter that is to be left to our choice." To be a Christian is to pray! Focus on prayer this Fall using this bookmark to remind disciples to pray daily. Just copy, laminate (if you choose), and cut. Four bookmarks per page.
Reformation Party
This reformation party is designed to be used by and teach Youth Groups. Feel free to make changes to suit your community. It is provided by Melanie Corn.
A Timeline of Luther's Life
Downloadable PDF that gives a brief overview of Martin Luther's life.
Thanksgiving Service based on Hymns
The origins of five beloved hymns are described within the service and sung together as a congregation. Additional or alternate hymns could be used if the worship leader wanted to use this purely for inspiration.
