Unit 4 Lesson 4 New Testament
Paul Preaches in Athens
Theme: Instruction
Biblical Basis Acts 17:16-34
God chose a man named Paul to be one of the most important missionaries in the history of the Church. God said, “he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:15). The Apostle Paul traveled throughout the ancient world, founding churches and spreading the Good News of Jesus.
Additional Text: 1 Corinthians 1:20-25
Lesson Prayer
Life-giving Father, you sent your servant Paul out into the world to proclaim the power of Jesus. Give us that same boldness and confidence to bear witness to your name, that people may turn from the idols of this world to the True and Living God. Help us to share your holy Word with others so that they would come to know your transforming power. We pray this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
Memory Verse
“The God who made the world and everything in it ... gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.” (Acts 17:24-25 ESV)
