When Jesus Came from Galilee
1 When Jesus came from Galilee To John at the Jordan
John pled, not you; Lord, baptize me; You are recreation.
2 You are the One who came before I ever had been wrought.
So baptize me, Oh, Lord of yore, He said without more thought.
3 But Jesus said, we do this thing To fulfill righteousness.
When John saw in this God's doing, Then he did acquiesce.
4 Then when the Lord had been baptized He came up straight away.
And just then as good John surmised, Heaven beamed God's wide ray.
5 The Spirit of Almighty God Then settled on the One
With dovelike grace and booming voice: "This is My beloved Son."
6 Sometimes we think we know more than The One who made us all.
We must respond to God—not man— Whatever else may befall.
