At the heart of our Christmas celebrations is the singing of hymns. We don’t do this simply for the sake of nostalgia, but because music allows us to learn the Christmas story in a different way than by simply hearing it.

Along with the singing is the classic retelling of the story by children in our congregations. In their acting out of the story, we bring another facet of our senses into realizing the magnitude of what it means that our God was incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ.

This service uses the grand Christmas hymn “Oh, Come All Ye Faithful” as a basis for bringing together the congregation and the children for a program that focuses on those who were present at that first Christmas.

The program is written with a minimum of characters but is completely adaptable to suit the particular situation of each congregation. Each of the verses of the hymn is to be sung by the children, except for the first and last verses.

This is a downloadable product, sent electronically upon purchase. You are then free to print and photocopy the number of scripts you need for the children in your congregation.
