Joseph Forgives His Brothers

Biblical Basis • Genesis 45:4-20, 25-28

Young Joseph had been sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. But God was with him. When God revealed that a great famine would take place, Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of the preparations. Joseph met his brothers again when they came to Egypt to buy food.

Lesson Prayer

Forgiving God, your mercies are new every morning. Thank you for your forgiveness of our sins and restoring us to newness of life. Help us to not seek vengeance but to seek loving our neighbor as ourselves. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Creative Idea for the Week

Flowchart Sequence of Events:
Prepare several large cards, each with one written sentence or event from the story. Give each student a card, and have them place the sheets in the proper sequence on a long table. (This can also be done by clipping the cards to a clothesline.)
