Unit 2 Lesson 5 Old Testament
Esther's Brave Decision
Theme: Decision
Biblical Basis Esther 4:1-17
Esther had been chosen to become queen in Persia, but no one new her identity as a Jew. When her uncle Mordecai informed her of a plot to kill all the Jews, Esther was faced with a choice. Would she obey the law, or would she take the risk to speak to the king in an effort to save her people?
Additional Text: Matthew 10:16-22
Lesson Prayer
Faithful Lord, you give your servants the courage and faith to do what is right. We thank you for always being there, encouraging us, strengthening us, and giving us the words to speak in your name. Grant us confidence to trust that you will guide and protect us always. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Memory Verse
Mordecai said: “Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 ESV)
