Unit 2 Lesson 6 Old Testament
Praise the Lord!
Theme: Worship
Biblical Basis Psalm 95:1-7, Psalm 150:1-6
The Book of Psalms served as the "hymn book" for the people of Israel. The songs and poetry it contains reflect a range of human emotions, from joy to sadness. Similar to the songs we sing in church today, many of the psalms were used in worship, accompanied by musicians, to give praise to the Lord!
Additional Text: Colossians 3:12-17
Lesson Prayer
Amazing God, we worship and adore you. We lift up your holy name, which is delightful and precious to our ears. Thank you for all the many ways you have shown your love and grace among us. May our songs and prayers be pleasing to you, O Lord, and may our lives proclaim your greatness for all generations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Memory Verse
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! (Psalm 150:1)
Creative Idea for the Week
The video for this lesson is different than the other videos in this series. This one moves viewers into the present time. It is interactive, encouraging students to repeat Psalm 95 with the narrator. Get everyone out of their seats and use this video to spark a conversation about worship.
