See Through the Scriptures - Student Manual
See Through the Scriptures ®
Student Manual by Dr. Harry Wendt
Understanding the Bible can be daunting. See Through the Scriptures makes the Bible more accessible by taking readers step-by-step through the entire biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation, putting everything in clear context. With 44 full-color teaching graphics designed to help people grasp and remember the key events and concepts of the Bible, students gain a new appreciation for everything that preceded Jesus in order to more fully understand the deeper meaning of His ministry and message of love and servanthood.
Like other works written by Dr. Harry Wendt, this study uses graphic illustrations to help students understand and remember important concepts and themes. The text is written with bulletpoint paragraphs to highlight key teachings.
Participants also need the Student Workbook that goes with this Student Manual. BONUS: Those who purchase this Student Book will receive a copy of the fold-out Biblical Telltale Timeline for free!
This series was formatted to allow maximum flexibility for congregations to use in their local settings. Instead of being divided into a set number of session/chapters, each graphic and explanation is numbered indivdually, from 1 to 44. These can be broken down in several different ways:
1) 8-Week Standard Series: For groups that have an hour to hour-and-a-half each week to meet together, a standard 8-week series covers 5-6 picture-graphics each week. If you are using the recorded video presentation for the teaching portion of your class, an 8-week series matches the eight video segments that are part of the accompanying DVD.
2) 12- to 16- Week Extended Series: For groups that would like to spend more time in discussion over a longer number of weeks, or for those who need to keep study sessions to under an hour, the content can be divided up into a 12- or 16-week series, covering 3-4 picture-graphics each week. This works well for a Bible Overview series in the weeks of the Fall, leading up to Christmas.
3) Year-Long "30 Minutes-a-Week" Mini-Studies: For congregations with limited teaching time each week (like a short class between services, or for a brief online weekly session, etc.), the study can be used as a year-long (44-week) series, focusing on one picture graphic per week. In this case, the content can be used over the course of a full calendar year, with a few seasonal "weeks off" thrown in.
